If you don't watch AI, then I apologize. This post will bore you to tears. However, I was so entranced last night by the show. They have such a talented and diverse group of singers. Not one contestant is like another. So here is my breakdown of how the night went.
1- Scotty
He is absolutely the cutest, sweetest, most precious kid on that stage. He makes me laugh, and is just a sweetheart. Too bad he's like ten years younger than me!
All photos in this post are from here. |
He sang "Swingin" last night, and did a great job. I thought it was a little boring though. We are getting closer to the finale and contestants need to step it up. Much like the judges said, he played it safe. Love him though.
2- James Durbin
James sang a song "Uprising" by Muse and he killed it. He is so theatrical and is such a great performer! Whether he wins or loses, I think James will be successful in music.
3- Haley Reinhart
Haley is definitely talented, but something about her just gets on my nerves. Maybe it's because she reminds me of a former student. I just don't know what it is.
She sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and did an amazing job. It would be hard to sing a song like Adele, but this gal did it. Great song and great job.
4- Jacob Lusk
There is something about this kids voice that is like nails on a chalkboard. It sounds nasaly or like he has a severe cold or something.
He sang "Dance with my Father". You could tell that it was an emotional song, which I liked. But again, I don't see how this kid is still around. Sorry, Jacob fans!
5-Casey Abrams
What is so great about this guy? He is a little funny. Entertaining? Maybe. But I don't think he is that talented vocally.
Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" was Casey's pick, and it was ok. Was it enough for Steven Tyler to go on a cursing rampage because he loved it so much? Nope.
6- Stefano Langone
He's a hottie machottie! I love his smile and his cockiness. But I just don't think he's one of the best singers.
He sang Ne-Yo's Closer, and yes, I think he did a good job. I loved seeing him dance around on the stage to make it more of a performance, but I think it's time for him to go. He's been around longer than he should have been.
7-Last, but certainly not least- Lauren Alaina
I've liked this southern chick from the beginning. Maybe it's because she is southern and seems like someone I would so get along with. Anywho-this gal has what it takes to win the whole shebang!
She sang Sara Evans (whom I absolutely love) "Born to Fly." I hate to even say this, but I thought it was just so-so. Lauren can do SO much better than just so-so. She has the talent, the voice, all of it. Let it out, girl. Show America what you can do!!!
What did you think of last night's show?
