Weekly Shopping Road Trip

Remember my post from last week about my shopping trip? Well, it would probably suffice to say that this Saturday was pretty much the same.

My shopping partner, Megan, met me at my house at 8. The car was full of gas, we stopped at Mickey Dees to get some yummy, greasy breakfast and hit the road. I did try the new Peppermint Mocha, and was not a fan. Anywho- we drove the 2 hours to get to my favorite Kentucky city, Lexington. We passed the time by doing what else...talking and singing, of course.

A few hours later, we arrived at Commonwealth Stadium for the noon football game. We knew that this was supposed to be a pretty boring game; it was against Jacksonville State, the Cats have not had a good season, and the tickets were free. BUT, any excuse to go to Lex-Vegas, we are there. We got to park pretty much by the entrance to the field and had plenty of room in our seats. That empty! However, the weather was absolutely perfect.

Notice the empty stands....yeah....we couldn't give away our extra tickets.
We left at the end of the first half...I mean, shopping was on the agenda, and Meg and I were twiddling our thumbs in anxiousness for what was ahead. We ran to the bookstore so I could get a UK sweatshirt blanket. I had found one at Target on clearance for $25, and passed it up. I went back to get it and lo and behold, it was gone. Grrr. So after stewing on it for a few days, I decided to get one, even if it was original price. I also found a sweatshirt for $15 bucks, so I scooped it up.

Sweatshirt blanket $36

I got a dark gray. $14.95
We passed Kennedy Book Store on the way back to the mall, so we stopped there also. I picked up a decal, and an antenna pom. I saw this shirt and desperately wanted it, but wasn't sure how appropriate it would be for my small town. I mean the word "ass" on a shirt is just not a classy thing. But I loved it.

Love it!

We made our way to Target (because  you know, every one is different). Then across the street to the mall. The first store we stopped at was, of course, a Kentucky store. So, I picked up a UK long sleeve tee; I absolutely LOVE long sleeve tees. Perfect for fall!

Except mine's not Nike. $9.99
We decided after our 4th Kentucky store, that we were not allowed to look at anything UK. You would think we were brand new students trying to scoop up everything UK. Ah well...our purchases will definitely be used.

We ran into Penney's so I could get some shirts to wear under sweaters and such, and of course, we had to detour through the shoes. Some boots, that I had tried on previously, were only $40 bucks, they fit, so I got them. They aren't the brand I wanted, and they aren't real leather, but for 40 bucks, I got them. (The ones I want cannot be found anywhere! I've looked for 2 weeks!)

JCPenneys. $39.99
After some more shopping along Nicholasville Rd., we headed to get some food. We passed by The Melting Pot, and since I had never been, we stopped. Oh my, was it good. That chocolate was to die for. I think if the bartender had left the bar, I would have licked the pot. That good.
Cheddar Cheese fondue, apples, and bread.

After that, we headed home. I'm not sure how we made it without falling asleep. 13+ hours of nothing but running around is a long day! Nevertheless, Meg and I had a good ole time. Btw- Whit....you  missed out, girl.We had an awesome, though exhausting, time. I'm anxious to see what next weekend holds!
