'Clockwork Orange' Blu-Ray Trailer

Warner Home Video has sent around a trailer for their upcoming 40th anniversary release of A Clockwork Orange on Blu-Ray. I already have the previous Blu-Ray edition, so I hope it will be worth upgrading. I wonder how many different editions of this movie have been released since the days of VHS? No matter. It's one I'll want to hang onto.

I have to admit that I go through ups and downs with Clockwork. When I was a teen, I loved it in all its gory glory, but as I got older I began to find myself repulsed by parts of it. Then I found myself championing its bravery, and its choice to have such a scoundrel for a hero, testing the audience's "likability" factor. My most recent viewing came up with a mixture of all these things. I'll be curious to see it again!

Enjoy. The Blu-Ray streets May 31. It includes new extras Malcolm McDowell Looks Back: Malcolm McDowell reflects on his experience working with Kubrick on one of the seminal films of the 1970s, and Turning like Clockwork, considering the film’s “ultra-violence” and its cultural impact. And don't miss McDowell's all-time great commentary track.
