As a kind of antidote to the horrible Transformers: Dark of the Moon, I decided to make myself feel better with this slapdash, homemade list of the greatest (i.e. my favorite) sci-fi movies. I'm sticking to my one-per-director rule, otherwise, the list would be dominated by David Cronenberg. I also decided to draw the line, in certain cases, on hybrids. If something seemed a bit more like a comedy, such as in the case of The Nutty Professor or Spaceballs, then out it went. The same went for horror hybrids, romance hybrids, etc. My list, my rules. Did I forget anything? Enjoy!
