1. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry:
A beautiful and important book for young kids to read.
2. Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner:
I still wish I had lived in a boxcar.
3. Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish:
I am waiting for this movie. It is coming--soon. Remember that I told you so.
4. Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren:
If only hair really had the ability to stick out like that. At least we can wear those wild stockings.
5. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis:
A magical world within a wardrobe. Who wouldn't love this book? And the fantastic BBC film version.
6. Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume:
I still think about when the little boy made soup out of the turtle.
7. Babysitter's Club by Ann M. Martin:
As a perpetual babysitter, I loved/love these books.
8. Corduroy by Don Freeman:
That adorable little bear in the corduroy pants.
9. Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor:
I cry every single time.
10. Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar:
I don't even remember what these books are about. I do know that I loved them.
