Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola won't change his team's attacking style following its 1-0 overtime loss to Real Madrid in Wednesday's Copa del Rey final.
"It seems like we cling to the style as an excuse whenever we lose. The style has much to do with the idea of the club and the coach. It is something that should not be raised, it is what it is," he said Friday. "This is the way I understand soccer and as long as I am here, this is the way it is going to be."
Guardiola said Barca didn't play badly in the second of four meetings in three weeks against Real Madrid . The teams had played to a 1-1 tie four days early in Madrid in a game Barcelona dominated.
"The King's Cup defeat would worry me if we were doing badly," he said, "but I don't see it that way. My feeling is that we are very close to winning the league and we are going to take part in another Champions League semifinal."
