I'd used Mary Kay foundation for years. I'd had a makeover, became a consultant, and it was easy. But after no longer selling it, I didn't have a connection to it. Does that make sense? Like if I wasn't getting the discount, I didn't feel like it was as worth it, maybe? I just felt like I wasn't getting as good of coverage as I needed.

So after weeks of wandering around Ulta, I finally asked the "beauty expert" what she would recommend. She recommended Lorac. She thought that it would provide the coverage that I want. I was all for it, but as I walked around the store, the $38 price tag was starting to weigh heavy on my money conscious mind. I know that may seem ridiculous to some of you, but I just don't spend that much money on products.

A gentleman that worked there was helping my friend, and he mentioned the brand Nyx. He said that it was a comparable off brand, and that his store manager used it instead of some of the name-brand makeup. He matched me up with a foundation that was similar to the Lorac brand, and for only $14, I felt much better about it. Especially since I didn't even know if I would like either one. I would much rather spend $14 to try something than $38. And if I didn't like it, no biggie.

I've used it for a few days, and I do like it. I think one of my biggest issues is not using enough of the product, but I'm working on that. However, I feel like I need all new stuff...powder, eye shadow, mascara, etc.
What do you use or recommend?
