WAG in-the-making Stacey Miller steps out with Liverpool FC's new star, Andy Caroll

He's a single man that now holds the record for being Britain's most expensive footballer.

So it was no wonder that this blonde beauty looked like the cat that had got the cream as she stepped out with Liverpool's new £35million star Andy Carroll.

The striker, who moved from Newcastle to the Merseyside city for the record fee, was snapped out with his new girlfriend Stacey Miller in Liverpool last night.

They have been taking some time to get to know the city which will be their new home, until Carroll makes his debut for the club. The date of that is uncertain as he is currently nursing a thigh injury.

Holding hands, the couple were pictured arriving back at their hotel after a romantic meal together and they couldn't contain their smiles.

Miss Miller, 23, gripped Carroll's hand as they walked past the cameras but she'd better get used to the attention from the flashbulbs in her new role as WAG to the multi-million pound player.

Liverpool delighted their fans but stunned the footballing world when the club signed Carroll for the huge sum this week.

This came despite the fact that he has only made 21 Premier League appearances and, so far, only has one international cap to his name.

Not that Stacey looked particularly worried, especially as he'll be bringing home a £90,000-a-week pay cheque.

However, we wonder if she knows exactly what she is getting in for by starting a relationship with football's bad boy, who has something of a chequered past.

Carroll is a player as famous for his love of drink, women and gambling as he is for scoring goals.

He already has a string of court appearances and late-night drunken bust-ups behind him, including an alleged assault on lingerie model ex-girlfriend Laurie Henderson.

Carroll, born in Gateshead into the same working-class background as the town’s most famous son, Paul Gascoigne, was convicted of assaulting a woman in 2008.
A month before his England debut last November, he pleaded guilty to a common assault charge after a glass struck a man above his right eye during a fight over a spilt drink in a Newcastle nightclub.

Carroll had apparently drunk nine pints that night and was fined £1,000 by the court for the incident.
