Wedding Nightmares

Hey y'all! As you all can probably gather from the title of this post I'm having a little wedding planning trouble. We're just over a month out from the date, and everything seems to be moving along well in the planning, we just have a few things to finish up and we will be done. 
Enter the problem....I have been having NIGHTMARES...not Jason & Freddy nightmares, but WEDDING Nightmares. Myself, with the help of my very best friends are planning this all by ourselves. Most everything about our special day will be DIY, so why am I freaked out, I'm controlling it all, right? I am not a very "simple" person, I love things BIG and over the top, and quite frankly it's tough to achieve big and over the top on a very minimal budget. I just fear things will end up looking tacky and cheap, and I'm one those people that DOES care what people say about me...lol. 
The theme, if we have to pick a theme would be "Country Chic"...never heard of it? I may or may not have made it up...just go with it. Lots of fresh spring flowers like hydrangeas and peonies, burlap runners, mason jars, galvanized buckets, monograms...you feeling my vision? I KNOW deep down it will turn out beautiful, and be unique, and exactly what I wanted, myself or my friends wouldn't have it any other way. I just need to stop stressing...every time someone asks if I'm ready for the wedding, my response "I'm ready for it to be over with"...granted it might be the truth, I just want to know that everything is in order and that it will be my perfect day. 
So in short, what am I telling you all today...ELOPE, ELOPE, ELOPE...only kidding...well sort of!!

Sweet little things like this make me certain I'm marrying my soulmate...I found this on our front steps a couple weeks ago. it definitely made my heart smile!

I've been crossing things off my wedding to-do list..this was one of them. Out family Bible that will be used during the ceremony, and cherished for many years to come

Almost every detail of our wedding will be somewhat DIY. These are the tags for our wishing tree, mom and I stained them with tea, then hand stamped them.

They will have twine at the top to attach them to the Wishing tree :)

I feel like I haven't sat down and actually written a blog post in the longest time, and to be quite honest I miss it. I wish I had the time to be a more frequent blogger, and after this wedding it is something I will definitely try to make a part of my routine will do. Everyday I catch up on my favorite blogs, and enjoy reading about what you ladies have going on :) 

My 1 year blogging anniversary is just around the corner, and I want to do a little giveaway to celebrate! I will also be crossing a couple things off my 30 before 30 list in the next month, so what better way to celebrate than to give away something fabulous to my readers!

Wedding Updates

It's been quite a while since I've blogged about the wedding, so I thought I would share a few details today! We have a date in concrete, and as of yesterday a completely new location, which I don't exactly love, but it will all work out just fine. Initially we were supposed to have the wedding at Nate's parents lake house on the balcony, over looking the lake...gorgeous..right...yea...not so much anymore. The lake house is a little over 2 hours away from home, and between scheduling conflicts with our preacher, and the struggle of trying to plan in a location that's 2 hours away we just decided to keep it a little closer to home, so I'm hoping it still turns out how I've planned. The location we've booked has an outdoor "gazebo" type building...so we will plan to have the ceremony there, and the reception in the banquet room.

• I've purchased a dress that I love, I can't wait for it to come in and me to actually be able to try it on in the correct size/color. It's a bridesmaid dress that I ordered in champagne, but it will work perfectly because I wanted something simple. 

• We've decided what were going to do in place of a unity candle/sand...because we didn't really want either of those in our ceremony. 

• I've purchased several pieces of decor that I think will be great with our "Country Chic" theme! Just think antique wooden crates, mason jars, galvanized buckets and lots and lots of gorgeous hydrangeas!

• I've picked a cake style I love, and decided on a menu.

• I've picked invitations, and decided on programs.

• I've decided on one favor for sure, and am debating a second

I'm hoping from here on out there are no more bumps in the road...I still have a million things to do, but with the help of my 2 favorite girls, this should be no problem at all! Ultimately I just can't wait for it to actually be here, and I get to marry my best friend...

Let's play catch up...

Hey y'all it feels like forever since I've actually sat down and did a real blog post. I get on blogger everyday and catch up on my favorite blogs, but haven't really found the time to catch up on my own...so here are a few things that have been going on...

Just in case you missed it...Nathan and I got engaged...on my 25th birthday...it took several days for it all sink in, but once it did I was very very excited! I really can't wait to spend my life with him. I never knew I could love someone as much as I do him. Everything is just simple...and even though we are complete opposites, we work so well together...

My girls and I have been some crafting fools...look us up on the book of faces...it's super fun, but it's keeping us super busy!

As far as a wedding date, Nate and I are thinking September of next year, we may do it in the Spring...we've still not decided for sure...I had gotten into full wedding planning mode a couple weeks ago; but realized I have more than enough time to plan a small wedding, so I am going to get through my NYC trip, and Christmas, then pick up the planning again in January.

Speaking of NYC...Julianne and I keep adding things to our itinerary! Our first night in town we've made reservations for Del Frisco's and we got tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular...we are super excited!

I finally jumped on the Erin Condren band-wagon today! I ordered a certificate from One Kings Lane today to get a life planner! I am so excited to order it later this week!

Nathan and I are going to start looking for a house after the first of the year, which is exciting, but also seems stressful. I hope we can just find something we both love! 

I have been an absolute failure at sticking to any kind of budget/saving money program. I don't really know what the deal is. I did the Dave Ramsey class last year, and really enjoyed it and thought it benefited me, but obviously it didn't. I've got to get back on the band wagon! I've been a spending fool lately! :(

I'm gonna share a few recent pictures...one of my favorite little girls Sydney Kate had a cowgirl birthday party last week and I finally got to use my new camera Nate got me for my birthday. Jenn at Perfectly Imperfect recommended this Canon point and shoot, because I didn't want a bulky DSLR, and I love, love, love it! Thanks Jenn!

The Birthday Girl and her pony!

Well, I'm glad we could catch up...basically thanks for listening to me ramble! There are so many exciting things coming up that I can't wait to share with you guys! I hope you're all doing well, and having a great week so far!

I've made a decision...

Though I've received many..."you're going to have an actual wedding"...or "you mean, you're going to have a ceremony...and wear a dress"...YES...yes I am...and all of you negative Nancy's can suck it (forgive me, that's completely un-ladylike)! Ok, now that that's out of the way ;)...


Up until today I had still been up in the air about whether or not Nate and I would have an actual wedding, or if we would just elope, or go to a JP, but today I found a dress, the dress...I am in love and it makes me so so excited to have a wedding with the man I, without a doubt, will spend the rest of my life with! I know this is not my first wedding, nor his, but it will be my last wedding and I want it to be a special day...so all of the lovely people in my life who are negative about this whole wedding situation, don't come, simple as that! :) And Virginia, my dear Grandma, I'm wearing a dress...an Ivory one...how does that make you feel?! Hahaha..jk..I love my Grandma, but good Lord she is opinionated, and very old fashioned!


We have decided on September 15th of next year, which seems like a long time from now; but I have to work with fishing tournament schedules, and hunting season, so that's where we landed! I am very excited to begin planning. I am still planning on doing a small family and close friends only ceremony at his parents lake house, so I shouldn't have that much to plan, but I can rest easy knowing I have plenty of time to make it perfect! 

25th Birthday Weekend!

Hey blog loves...I guess I should fill you all in on my 25th Birthday weekend...I did survive, and have dealt with the fact that I am halfway to 50! Everything started last Monday when my sweetheart sent me a gorgeous bouquet of roses to enjoy all week at my office. 

My good friend Julianne also celebrated 25 early in the week on Tuesday so our best friend Kyndall threw us a surprise birthday party at one of our favorite restaurants and invited other friends, it was such a good time and Kyn really put a lot of thought into everything...our cake was amazing. Julianne and I are going to NYC together in December, so this is what she made had for us!  

 

 It was perfect!! I got some great goodies from the girls! Friday was my actual Birthday and I woke up to gifts from Mom and Dad, then had to start a busy, busy day! I had to knock out a little community service (court ordered...for speeding...I'm not a real criminal)...then pack up and head north to Fayetteville for my Birthday weekend, and to see Nate weigh in for his fishing tournament. My friend Darrah, and her baby Lynlee went up with me because her b/f and Nate fish together so we decided to make a girls weekend out of it! We did some shopping on the way up, then finally got to our room. We got ready for dinner and met the boys at Outback...not my pick, but what do you do, huh...it was only my Birthday!? Lol!! Dinner was good, Nate got me the new Canon camera I'd been wanting, and I was very excited...when I opened it up his friend Tim took it from me and started just taking pictures, I, like I normally do layed my hand on Nate's leg...only to feel something strange in his pocket...it wasn't change...it wasn't keys...about the time he realized that I had figured out what was about to happen he started scooting down the seat (while I was trying to pull him back...lol)..he got down on his knee (yes in the Outback Steakhouse...lol)...and asked me to spend my life with him...

I was sooo very surprised, which is very hard to do! Everything finally sank in yesterday, and I am so, so excited! I honestly can't wait to spend my life with him! I can't wait to start planning a wedding!! I hope y'all are having a great week!! I can't wait to start sharing real wedding planning with you guys!!
