Pinterest Recipe: Sausage and Veggies Packet

I've been on a Pinterest cooking kick lately. I've copied recipes, spent loads of money on specific ingredients (because you know when you are making a certain dish, you don't have anything you need....), and spent more time in the kitchen this week than I have all year.

To be honest, I love cooking. But, it's just me, and it kind of sucks spending all of that time preparing something just for myself. Especially if it sucks! But anywho- pinterest has been calling my name, and I answered.

This recipe is my latest Pinterest project.

Inspiration:
There wasn't a specific recipe for this that I could follow (don't you hate when there aren't links). I just looked at the picture, bought some sausage and some of my favorite veggies to grill, and wrapped them in tin foil. (You could really use any veggie, I think.)

My take:

My recipe:
1 smoked sausage
1 squash
1 zuccini
2-3 potatoes (I love potatoes, so I put more of them in)

*Cut into medium-sized pieces. Be sure all are about the same size.
*Place in foil packet.
*Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
*Drizzle with EVOO.
*Grill on low for about 20 minutes, or until tender.

Y'all. This was delicious! Luckily, I had plenty leftover, so I will have it for lunch and maybe dinner tonight. Score!

What's your favorite thing to grill?

Friday Letters

Photobucket

Dear Arnold Palmer- Thank you for making such a delicious drinky drink. I've been drinking the half tea/half lemonade concoction all week, and I'm in love.

Dear Pinterest-  Some of your recipes pinned suck. Stay tuned next week, folks. I'm going to share my disappointment in the kitchen.

Dear Jewelry Nut Auctions- I have a love/hate relationship with you. I LOVE putting "SOLD OOT" under your pretty pictures of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, but my bank account hates it. It's really a shame that you don't do returns too, because I have some things I just don't love, and I feel like I've wasted that money.

Dear  Rajon Rondo- I'm not an NBA fan. I just don't think it's exciting. But, I have been watching you some, and am so proud that you are a former Kentucky Wildcats player. You kick ass on the court, and you are a big reason I'm watching these playoffs. Go Rondo!

Dear Blog Friends- I know I said it the other day, but reunion is TOMORROW, and I'm freaking out. Please say a prayer for my sanity tomorrow night. I don't know why I'm such a nervous wreck, but I am. I'm sure after I get there, I'll be fine....but I'm so anxious!

Hope each and every one of you have an amazing weekend! :)

Pinterest Fashions

Oh em gee, guys. Can you believe this weather? It's been absolutely gorgeous here in Kentucky the past few days, sunshine, upper 70-lower 80 degree weather. Absolute perfection. Which means, I've been pulling out the short sleeves, capris, and sandals. This also means I've had my eye on some fashion pieces that I'm dying to get. I'm
linking up with The Vintage Apple today to share some of my favorites!

I would wear each and every one of these! Love them.

Notice any trends here? Color! I'm loving how much color is everywhere this Spring! Do you love any of these  creations? Would you wear them?

Pinterest Project: Duct Tape Wreath

I saw this on pinterest, and I immediately knew I could do this...and would since it involved animal print.

Inpiration pin:

I couldn't for the life of me find a styrofoam wreath that had the rounded edges. I remembered this pin (below)about using a pool noodle, found one for $2 at Target, and voila! Instant wreath.

I did cut the noodle down so it wouldn't be such a big circle. It also may be a little more oval, but if you work with it, it will become a circle in seconds.

Materials:
Wreath
Duct tape
Flower or other decoration
Scissors

Finished project:

I will probably go back to get a larger flower, because I think this one is just too small. This is one that has a pin and a clip on the back (for hair or clothes or whatever), and just isn't large enough for this size wreath.

I'm also going to use something other than that wreath hanger. It's just not working either. Any ideas what I can use?

Price breakdown:
Wreath Pool noodle: $1.99
Duct tape: $3.99
Red flower pin: $1.99
Total: $7.97
Not bad, right?

What do you think of my duct tape wreath?

The Wall Street Journal has this to say about Pinterest; "If you haven't heard of Pinterest, you likely will soon. Traffic to the website—which lets users create online scrapbooks to share images of projects or coveted products—has grown tenfold over the past six months. In January, the number of visitors on Pinterest.com was almost a third of that on Twitter.com....people are flocking to the site. Pinterest last month attracted more than 11 million unique visitors, more than double the 4.9 million who visited the site in November, according to comScore. Those who visited spent nearly 100 minutes on the site in January, compared with 19 minutes on professional social-networking site LinkedIn, it said." IMTA is excited to be a part of Pinterest!

We look forward to seeing you on Pinterest!

Pinterest Finds: Spring

Spring is just around the corner. If you don't believe me, just step outside. We have weather in the 60's and 70's this week, and daffodils are blooming.

I like having a focus when I do my pinterest finds, so this week, I'm focusing on spring fashion. Spring lines are starting to hit the stores, bathing suits are already out for goodness sake, and I'm loving all of the color!

These are perfect for a pop of color to an otherwise subdued outfit.

Would wear these so much!

Love this for cooler days.

This screams spring to me.
Love this color combo!

I'm a sucker for wedges, and these are perfect!

Yes, please!
This color is fantastic!

This is me to a T. Basic, but classic with pop of color!

What are you looking most forward to for spring?

Pinterest Pins

I haven't linked up or shared any pinterest finds in a long while, so I thought I would do that today. (I'm also trying to recuperate from last night, so I couldn't do anything too deep today.)

When I need a lift-me-up or a reminder about things, I often pull up the board with words to remember or inspiration. These are a few that I am loving this week.
