Novel

For Christmas my roommate cousin, Elisabeth, gave me a novel writing kit. The general gist of it is that you have to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, and along the way the kit will guide you with useful tips to keep you going.

So . . . I have decided to begin this adventure.

Tomorrow, February 1st, I will begin writing my novel.

And no . . . I do not have a plot yet, but I take it that is part of the process! I have a general idea of what a novel I would write would include or exclude.

I am not going to say what it will be about, but here is a list of what it will not be about:

- marriage/divorce

- per request of my sister Jessica . . . vampires

- accurate historical facts

- women's rights

- motivational teachers

- amish

- corny friendship things, such as traveling pants or knitting clubs

- tragic illnesses

- future world

- sappiness

- time travel

Alright! I begin tomorrow. The kit creator says you are not supposed to let others read your novel until it is finished. So don't be expecting excerpts up on this blog. However, I may post plot summaries.
